- **Event Description**: Japa Mala meditation is the art of chanting mantras on 108 sacred beads as a deeply intentional meditation practice. “Japa” means “recitation” and “mala” means garland, and during this workshop, you’ll not only learn how to practice Japa Mala meditation, but you’ll also be designing and creating your own mala, infused with your personal intention and blessings. You’ll choose from colorful gemstones that represent specific chakras and energies, combined with ethically-sourced Balinese rudraksha seeds (which represent the god Shiva and his ability to remove what no longer serves us to make way for our purest intentions). The cost of the workshop covers all materials, including gemstones, rudraksha seeds, tassels, and decorative gold cap beads. 

By joining this workshop, you agree to honor the sacred nature of the mala: to ensure that your words and thoughts retain a positive vibration while handling the materials and creating your mala, and to practice meditation using your completed mala, rather than simply wearing it as a necklace. Malas should only be worn around the neck or right wrist, and when not worn, they should be kept in a special place, never touching the ground or feet.
